Tipping
Restaurants: 10-15% is customary, but not mandatory. A “coperto” (cover charge) is often billed. Bars: Round up to the nearest euro. Taxis: 10% or round up. Hotels: 1-2€ per day for room service.

Important: Many city centers have ZTL zones (Zona a Traffico Limitato) – residents only! Alcohol limit: 0.5 per mille.
Currency & Payment
Italy uses the Euro (€). Card payment is widespread, but cash is still often preferred, especially in smaller restaurants and shops. Contactless payment works smoothly in larger cities.
Attenzione: Many small trattorias only accept cash – always have some cash on you!
