Tipping

Restaurants: 10-15% is customary, but not mandatory. A “coperto” (cover charge) is often billed. Bars: Round up to the nearest euro. Taxis: 10% or round up. Hotels: 1-2€ per day for room service.

Italy uses the Euro (€). Card payment is widespread, but cash is still often preferred, especially in smaller restaurants and shops. Contactless payment works smoothly in larger cities.
