Important: Left-hand traffic. Roundabouts are very common – give way to the right. Road trains in the Outback can be 50m long. Alcohol limit: 0.5 per mille (0.0 for novice drivers).

Australia uses the Australian Dollar (AUD). Card payment is universal – even for the smallest amounts. Contactless (Tap & Go) is standard. EFTPOS is the local system. Cash is used less and less.
